FALL 2024 LIFE GROUPS
The After Party
The After Party is a class designed to help us move towards better Christian politics. We’ll use a video curriculum and a group discussion led by Keith Johnson. Be equipped & encouraged to do the hard work of engaging across differences, reframing our political identity in light of the Gospel, and focusing our hearts & minds on the “how” of relating to each other before the “what” of political opinions.
Applying Grace in our Parenting
Whether we are reacting to our parents, planning to be parents, overwhelmed at being parents, or learning to stand with our kids as they parent, we need to know there is a way home. A way to be convinced God is present and working in every stage of our family. It begins with us, the parents, and will involve learning to apply grace and cultivate trust with our children.
This group will meet eight or nine times to explore these topics using the Bible and the book, The Cure & Parents, as a guide. We will discuss the book and how it reflects the biblical narrative of grace and how it connects to our present stage of life as parents.
The Chosen—Season 3
This men and women’s group will be watching Season 3 of the Chosen and discussing practical applications together. If you have not seen some of the seasons of The Chosen, don’t worry, you can enter in at any point.
The Chosen—Season 4 - FOR WOMEN
This group will be viewing Season 4 of the Chosen using an Interactive Bible Study book as well. The group will be going in-depth on many scenes in each episode. If you have not seen previous seasons of The Chosen, you may still join at any time.
The Friendship Connection Group
This is a supportive and inclusive group designed for people of all abilities to build community and develop personal growth in our relationships with Jesus. Our focus is on fostering meaningful relationships. As we continue to meet and engage with one another, we will collaboratively develop topics and activities that resonate with the unique interests, challenges, and aspirations of those who attend.
Global Leadership Summit Follow Up Group
Explore in depth the amazing leadership material provided during the Global Leadership Summits. Grow together with other local leaders using available discussion guides and individual perspectives to spark invigorating and thought-provoking discussions to address your personal and professional leadership opportunities.
GriefShare
If you've lost a loved one, you may find that few people truly understand the depth of your pain. GriefShare groups meet weekly to help you face these challenges and move toward rebuilding your life. These groups are ongoing and you may join at any time.
Leadership for Life
This leadership experience aims to develop individuals as Christian leaders for meaningful service in God’s Kingdom. We will explore leadership ideas, concepts, and theories from both Christian and non-Christian sources, all through a Christian perspective. Together, we will learn and find the key to our own leadership transformations. Due to the importance of training leaders, participants are asked to commit to the entire program and demonstrate this commitment through an application process. Please carefully consider the program requirements before agreeing to participate.
The Practicing the Way Course
Two thousand years ago, Jesus said to his disciples, “follow me.” But what does it mean for us to follow Jesus today?
The Practicing the Way Course is an introduction to spiritual formation, exploring what it means to follow Jesus and laying the foundation for a life of apprenticeship to him. The course features eight sessions of teaching via video from John Mark Comer, guided conversation, and spiritual exercises.
Prayer for Missions
This group meets weekly to pray for our mission partners in Africa—primarily International Evangelism Outreach and Compassion Tanzania.
Preparing for your Homecoming
Have you considered these questions: What happens when you die? What preparations should I make for my death? What happens at a funeral home? What does the Bible say about death? What about wills? In this class, Keith Johnson will be sharing on these important questions.
Renovaré Book Club
The Renovaré Book Club guides you through four thoughtfully chosen books to create space for God to work in your life. While books alone don’t ensure growth, God often uses the right book at the right time to spark transformation, especially when read, prayed over, and discussed in community.
Cost: $60 (Books are additional cost). Cost includes: Reading schedule, weekly email, Members-only online community, Exclusive podcasts and essays, Author and Expert zoom calls at the end of each book. The Book Club runs September 2024 through April 2025. For more details and the specific books, visit: https://renovare.org/bookclub. This will be a Helena discussion group facilitated by Cody Melton.
Sermon on the Mount
Join us for an eight-week study on the Sermon on the Mount, found in Matthew 5, 6 and 7. This well-known portion of Scripture is Jesus' own description of what He wanted His followers to be and do. The format will be discussion rather than lecture, with the hope of digging deep into the text to increase our understanding of His teaching in this passage.
