Apologetics for Life: Learn to defend your belief in God against the most common objections of Atheism

    • Monday, 7:00pm, Life Covenant Church, Rm 203
    • 8 -12 weeks beginning September 24
    • Contact: Matt Swider, 442-6813

Description - "How can you believe in God when there is so much evil in the

world?" "How can you believe in God when there is simply no evidence to support

that belief?"  "Isn't it just blind faith?"

Have you ever found yourself faced with these kinds of questions and been unable

to answer them?  What if you learned that there are good answers to these

questions?  What if you were able to defend your belief in God based on logic and

science - and not on blind faith?  If you are interested in learning these skills, then

Apologetics for Life is for you!

In this class, we will be looking at the classical arguments for God's existence.  We

will also be looking at responses to some of the major objections to Theism that

have been raised by Atheists over the centuries.  Those who complete this class will

have more confidence in their belief in God, and will be better equipped to defend

that belief against the attacks of Atheism.

you’ve lost a spouse, child, family member, or friend, you’ve probably found there

are not many people who understand the deep hurt you feel. This can be a

confusing time when you feel isolated and have many questions about things

you’ve never faced before. GriefShare groups meet weekly to help you face these

Resolving Everyday Conflict: Learn how to model the words and ways of Jesus when you face conflict

    • Wednesday, 6:30-7:50pm, Life Covenant Church, Rm 201
    • Nine to ten weeks, beginning September 12
    • Contact: Neil Botts, 442-6813
Description - Conflict typically stresses and strains relationships. When
disappointments, offenses, or unmet expectations pile up, our relationships with
other people can be damaged or even destroyed. Worse yet, the bitterness and
unforgiveness triggered by prolonged conflict grieves the Lord and injures our
          relationship with him.

In this LIFE Group, we will learn to resolve our differences and restore our

relationships with one another according to biblical wisdom and guidance. And we

will discuss how to get upstream of the conflict, learning to live and breathe the

gospel during every human interaction helping to reduce the number of conflicts

we experience. These principles can help nurture greater relational health as a

          church family.

Women’s Bible Study: Jonah - Navigating a Life Interrupted, by Priscilla Shirer

    • Tuesday, 1:00pm, Beginning October 2,  Life Covenant Church, Rm 201
    • Contact: Mary Anderson, 422-2969

Description - Interruptions. They're aggravating. Sometimes infuriating. But how we

handle interruptions actually tell us more about ourselves. What do we do when God

interrupts our lives? Many times, like Jonah, we run! Priscilla redefines interruption and

shows that interruption is actually God's invitation to do something beyond our wildest

dreams. When Jonah was willing to allow God to interrupt his life, the result was revival

in an entire city. For more information about this study and about Priscilla Shirer,

Men’s Bible Study: Modeling the Rhythms and Words of Jesus

    • Wednesday, 6:30am, Life Covenant Church, Rm 203
    • Beginning September 12
    • Contact: Neil Botts, 442-6813

Description - Jesus entered the stage of recorded history not only to show us the way

we are meant to live, but to invite us to follow him—learning to model his rhythms and

words—into that life of significance and purpose as his disciples. As we slowly begin to

look more and more like Jesus in character and in competency, we will naturally begin

to impact people who do not know the love of Jesus. Because that is simply what

disciples do. He promised it would cost us everything and that it would be worth it.

Adult Bible Study: Living as Disciples in Everyday Life

    • Wednesday, 9:00am, Life Covenant Church, Rm 203
    • Ten to eleven weeks, beginning September 19
    • Contact: Neil Botts, 442-6813

Description - Everyday life is a complex affair. Most of it is made up of familiar

situations, responsibilities, frustrations, pressures, conflicts, obligations, dilemmas,

disappointments, and opportunities. Additionally, we experience joys, crises, laughter,

hopes, successes and failures. As disciples of Jesus Christ who want to connect our

faith with every part of our lives, we are not always sure how to do so. In this Life

Group, we will explore together how to integrate our Christ-centered faith and values in

all we do—the way we work and rest, the quality of our parenting and friendships, how

we engage in issues of poverty and injustice, the way we walk through suffering, and

how we live on mission in the world of everyday life. This is a critical matter! If we—the

people of God—do not speak and act like Jesus in the world of everyday life, the

Church itself ultimately has no witness in the world.

Women’s Bible Study: The Redemptive Side to Job's Suffering, by Lisa Harper

    • Friday, 9:00am, Life Covenant Church Rm 202/204
    • Beginning September 7
    • Contact: Vicky Curtis, 431-7164
Description - Joy is the constant companion of the woman who trusts in the Lord. And
while you can find it in friends, family, and circumstances, unfailing, persistent joy will
only ever overflow from your relationship with Jesus. Just ask Job, the man from Uz
who clung to God’s goodness while all his worldly joys were stripped away. But
how is it possible to hold onto such joy in times of sorrow? In this 7-session study
by Lisa Harper, discover the redemptive side to Job’s story of suffering. Learn to
use pain to strengthen your faith, point others to the gospel, and remember God’s
providence will never take you to a place where His grace will not sustain you. For
more information about this study and about Lisa Harper, visit
